The S70P-F is a miniature 1D/2D barcode scan engine from EDOO. A dedicated decode chip running EDOO's own decoding algorithm drives a 1280 x 800 CMOS imager with fast exposure, and the imager and decoder board are integrated into a single 21.5 x 7 x 10.5 mm, sub-3 g module that fits inside equipment where a scanner cannot. It resolves codes down to 3.3 mil at a 10% print contrast, across a 39 degree horizontal by 26 degree vertical field, with roll 360 degrees and pitch and skew of +/-60 degrees, and it works in ambient light from 0 to 100,000 Lux.
It reads paper labels, phone and monitor screens and direct-part-marking (DPM) codes, in forward and reverse colour, across the common 1D and 2D symbologies - Code 128 / GS1-128, EAN, UPC, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5 and postal codes alongside QR, Micro QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, Maxicode, Hanxin and GridMatrix - and it parses GS1 Application Identifiers, including medical-device UDI. Integration is over USB (HID-KBW or virtual serial port) or 3.3 V TTL-232 on a 12-pin 0.5 mm FPC connector, with dedicated Beep, LED and nTrig pins for buzzer, indicator and external trigger; key-trigger and level-trigger modes, real-time image capture and in-application firmware upgrade are all configurable by command. The S70P-F is used by equipment makers in self-service kiosks, express delivery cabinets and ticket verification terminals, and in handheld scanners, PDA, tablets, scan rings and handheld POS. Covered by a 1-year warranty and EDOO technical support, with ODM and OEM orders welcome.

The engine resolves a 3.3 mil symbol. At that density a Code 39 is read between 100 mm and 200 mm; at 5 mil the same symbology reads from 70 mm to 320 mm.
USB as an HID keyboard or as a virtual serial port, and a 3.3 V TTL-232 serial port. Both are carried on the same 12-pin, 0.5 mm pitch FPC connector together with VCC, GND, Beep, LED and nTrig.
Yes. The 1280 x 800 fast exposure imager and the decoding algorithm are tuned for paper labels, screens and direct-part-marking, and both forward and reverse (inverted) colour symbols are supported.
A single DC 3.2 - 3.6 V rail. Average current is 280 mA while scanning and 40 mA (UART) or 45 mA (USB) in standby, so it runs from a battery-powered handheld device or a 3.3 V host board.
Miniature scan heads and self-service hardware: embedded kiosks, express delivery cabinets, ticket verification gates, handheld scanners, PDA and tablet accessories, scan rings and mobile POS.
